“School Basis” is the new private educational school in Kyiv. It provides a high level of education in the field of natural sciences. Our school is founded by teachers who have their own methods and developments. It combines traditional teaching with a modern and friendly approach to children. We give students a basis for self-esteem, the opportunity to discover themselves, to go beyond the role of performers and to become researchers and creators. The school constitutes a high level of thinking and culture.
Thanks to the collaboration with #DrosEU, the Basis School (Shkola Bazys) in Kiev (Ukraine) joins the international project #MelanogasterCTF in 2020. Students from grade 7 to 10 were collecting, classifying and identifying the samples.
I am a biology teacher. My experience of participation in flies’ collection for the project was wonderful! We made elegant exhausters for the whole group, visited a large and nice apple garden, learned a lot about Drosophila melanogaster, the fruit fly, and spent many happy hours discussing it all. #MelanogasterCTF was one of the first biological projects of our young school, so the community of our students-naturalists started from #MelanogasterCTF.I am a biology teacher.
